嫁ぐ妹、文のために

嫁とつぐ妹いもうと、文ふみのために

松陰しょういんは愛弟子久坂玄瑞まなでしくさかげんずいに嫁とつぐ文ふみに、一文いちぶんを著ちょし、お祝いわいの言葉ことばとした。「久坂玄瑞くさかげんずいは年齢ねんれいは若わかいが、すでに防長第一流ぼうちょうだいいちりゅうの人物じんぶつで、そのうえ天下てんかの英才えいさいである。そなたはまだいとけなく、未いまだ妻つまとしてはふさわしくない。しかし、自みずからすすんで励はげみ務つとめるならば、何なにごともできないということはない。進すすんで努力どりょくしないことを心配しんぱいするだけである。酒さけや食事しょくじのことについては、よく計画けいかくをたて主婦しゅふのなすべき家事かじを充分じゅうぶんにいたすことである。心こころから夫おっとに貞節ていせつを尽つくすことは、嫁よめの第一番だいいちばんに心こころがけることである。」

"Kusaka Genzui is young in age but already a prominent person in Bocho area, and furthermore, he is such a genius of the world. You may still be inexperienced and not yet suitable as a wife. However, if you willingly put in effort and work hard, there is nothing you cannot achieve. My concern is that you are not willingly making an effort.
it is important to plan carefully about food and drink, and fulfill your duties as a housewife adequately. Devoting yourself faithfully to your husband from the bottom of your heart should be your foremost priority as a bride."
